Hi! I'm Johanna, proud Latina, mom to three, "baby mama" to two, and wife to one. Relationships and parenting have been a rollercoaster since I was 19yo. I grew up believing most people were good, but gave the wrong people the benefit of the doubt. I found myself in several toxic relationships, the last one keeping me up at night with an infant, thinking to myself that I couldn't stand the abuse any longer, but wondering if anyone would even believe me because of how much he was loved and respected in our community.

A public scandal, newly postpartum, embarrassed and completely exhausted, I knew I had to leave. For myself and my kids. Growing up in an evangelical Christian home, being the oldest daughter in my Latino family, and later a wife to a man who was respected not only in our community, but held leadership roles in our local church, I held a deep rooted belief that it was my responsibility to be the good girl, the good daughter, and later, the good wife who prayed her husband's sins away. It didn't work. His betrayal continued. My suffering grew. Something had to change.

I work with women who find themselves in the dark spaces of mental and emotional abuse who need to be understood, seen, and held without judgment. This work isn’t a quick fix, but so worth it. You deserve the change that you are searching for.
